Welcome Brady!

On April 5, 2012 at 8:31pm we welcomed Braden Patrick to the family!  He weighed 10 pounds even and was 21.75 inches long.  He arrived just in time for Easter as we took him home the Saturday before.  Allie was so excited to meet him and one of the first things she said to him was, “I love you, stinky face”.

The night before…

The night before I went into the hospital to delivery Brady, I ate Snowman ice cream (one scoop of banana and one scoop of brownie) and watched the first half of War Horse with Kevin.  I also looked this this…

Easter Photo Shoot

Can’t waste a pretty dress!  We took Allie to Congress Park in Saratoga at the end of March to get a few photos of her in her Easter dress.  We were lucky to have really mild temperatures and a beautiful day!

Progress at the Playground

Up until early March, Allie refused to go down the slides at the playground.  She would swing and go up and down the stairs, but would never go down a slide.  Not even with someone.  Once she went down the little slide alone, within days she was going down the big twisty slide.  And after the first time she went down the big slide she said, “that’s not so bad”.

“Science”

Keeping a toddler occupied is no easy task.  Lately we’ve been occupying ourselves with little “science experiments”.  We made ooey gooey goop, mini volcanoes and cloud sand.  We mixed colors in water and observed which objects float and which ones sink.  We made an egg float in the middle of water by adding salt.  We made a hard boiled egg drop into a glass container using a match.  And we practiced our measuring skills with cups, spoons, a funnel and a container of rice and beans of different sizes.

Cloud Sand: 8 parts flour to 1 part baby oil

Ooey Gooey Goop: cornstarch and water

Volcanoes: baking soda, vinegar, and food coloring (optional)

Sesame Street Live with Daddy!

Lucky girl had two shows in January to attend – Laurie Berkner and Sesame Street Live.  It’s apparent from this video that she was having a great time!

Jumping for joy!

Here we are in mid January.  Brady will be here before we know it!  (Actually, he is already here, but I slacked a bit on the blogging, so I’m doing a quick catch up!)

Ready for a walk!
