Happy Halloween!

image_3269911_0

It’s Allie’s first Halloween and she dressed up as a kitty this year.  I tried to teach her how to meow, but it just wasn’t clicking. :)  I made this card using scrapblog and I think it turned out pretty cute!  It’s not as easy as just importing your picture into a template, but I like the satisfaction of creating my own designs.

Yesterday, we all went to Halloween party at Allie’s friend, Brody’s, house. Allie walked all around their house in her costume about 30 times!  Everyone now and then she would stop to talk to someone, but she was a girl on a mission that day.  Click on the photo below to view a gallery of photos from the day.

In a few hours, we’ll be heading out to trick-or-treat at a some neighbors houses.  A new blog post will be up soon with some pictures from today and also daily pics from the month of October.  Two months to go and we’ll have a full year of Allie!  :)

Birthday planning…

It’s hard to believe that this time last year I was waddling around at 197 pounds waiting for Allie to arrive and now she’s waddling around me at a solid 25+ pounds.  Her birthday is only 1 and half months away and I’ve been starting the planning process.  The theme for her birthday is “Allison’s One-derland”.  I thought it was clever.

In my quest to be super-mom, I’ve been making most of the decor, her birthday outfit, and the food.  Apparently, I haven’t developed my super powers yet, because there have a been a few disasters.  A few weeks ago, I made an attempt at making some cupcakes and they quickly got dubbed “the birthday butt-cakes” because they tasted so bad.  Feeling the need to redeem myself, I made a new batch with a new recipe and they are definitely winners.  Sour cream and vanilla instant pudding made a remarkable difference! I’ve also been wrapped up in yards and yards of tulle making a tutu which may or may not swallow her alive on her actual birthday.  Then I made her a onesie with an appliqué “1” on it.  It looks really cute, but I’m afraid she may actually grow out of it by the time her birthday rolls around.  Poor thing may be wearing an enormous tutu and have a giant wedgie. Who needs comfort when you look adorable, right?

I’ll conclude this post with a video that Kevin and I both agree is creepy, but is featured in one episode of Allie’s favorite show (Jack’s Big Music Show).  Enjoy!
